Doctoral candidate or postdoctoral researcher position in Natural Chemistry Research Group

The doctoral candidate or postdoctoral researcher will be working in the Deparment of Chemistry in a research project funded by the Academy of Finland:”Ellagitannin-lipid interactions – Molecular aspects, mechanisms and antimicrobial effects (1.9.2017 - 31.8.2021)". The fixed term position starts at the earliest on 1st of September 2019 and lasts two years at the most.

The candidates must hold a master or doctoral degree in chemistry or related fields. In addition, the applicants should have a proven experience in the field of tannin chemistry, especially in tannin analytics and characterization and bioactivity measurements, in addition to the expertise and working experience with NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The applicants need to have the ability to conduct independent scientific work and good English skills.

The salary is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel. For a postdoctoral researcher, the salary is at levels 4-6 on the job demands chart, where the task specific salary component is 2535,20 – 3423,25  €/month. In addition, a personal work performance component will be paid.  The personal work performance component is a minimum 6 % and maximum of 50 % of the task specific salary component.

There is a trial period of six months.
