Researchers and academics globally face growing threats to their safety and freedom of expression and research. In this context, the Scholars at Risk (SAR) network brings together universities and research institutions to offer protection, new opportunities, and a secure environment for those whose research places them at risk.
Universities that welcome and assist at-risk scholars actively safeguard free inquiry and, in doing so, broaden the intellectual diversity of their communities. Through their participation in SAR, the Université libre de Bruxelles, the Université catholique de Louvain and the Université de Liège reaffirm their commitment to free inquiry, open dialogue and democratic values.
